Are you looking for a lifetime partner to take long walks in the woods or do some showing? Gallop through the fields and just enjoy your time in the arena with? Look no further. Blu is the perfect age. A 11 year old, AQHA gelding that stands right under 15 hands and weighs 1100 lbs. He is a TRUE BLUE ROAN and built thick. He has a calm demeanor and loving attitude. He loves to be groomed and enjoys attention. Blu has been a HUGE part of my lesson program the past 6 months. Teaching little ones as small as 7 year old to ride. He is very forgiving. Blu has had one owner and lived just 30 minutes down the rode his entire life. He is looking for a new home at no fault of his own. His previous family has migrated into barrel horses and no longer trail rides or competing in open shows. Blu has been very active in the 4-H the past couple years. Showing in showmanship, halter, pleasure, english, & the ranch classes. Blu also has been ridden all over the country in big groups, small groups, and been on many overnight camping trips. He packed saddle bags and trained to stand on a picket line overnight. He will ride out alone and away from the barn and be dependable. He will cross big bodies of water, steep/slippery banks, cross logs, go through mud, and is traffic safe.
Not only is he great out on the trail, but Blu rides fancy in the arena. He has a true one hand neck rein, is soft in the face, and can ride in something as simple as a halter or a D ring snaffle. He gives to the bit laterally and vertically and moves off leg pressure with ease. He has a big stop and nice turn arounds. He will side pass over logs, back through cones, and open gates. Blu has a smooth, slow jog and a rocking chair lope.
Blu is currently shod only on the front, but he has nice dark, hard feet and would be a great candidate to go barefoot. He stands great for baths, the farrier, tacking/untacking, and mounting. He gets along with other horses in the field and easy to catch. He loads in and out of the trailer with ease.
Blu makes mounting simple. He will side pass over to a log, mounting block, or picnic table with just a snap of your fingers. He will also drop his head low to make bridling easy. Don't miss out on Blu must see video.
