Meet Axel a 12 year old 16.0 hand grey 1/4 draft, 3/4 Quarter horse gelding. Grey isn’t usually my favorite color but when they look like this it sure is. This horse is drop dead gorgeous and absolute perfection if you ask me. Branded ranch gelding that’s super broke with a two finger neck rein, good stop, slow jog and a rocking horse lope. This gelding not only looks the part, he rides the part to. Perfect confirmation and built like one should be built. He is super stout and honestly breathtaking.
Axel has done all aspects of ranch work including roping, rodeo pickup, checking fences, dragging cattle to the branding fire. If it was on a ranch this horse has most likely seen it and done it. He has a long resume and a lot of experience, Thats why he is so bulletproof.
He can carry any size rider with no issue at all. Just look at the chest and bone on this gelding. If you are worried if hes big enough for you, dont be because i can assure you he is. You just dont see horses built like this nowadays often. I don’t know what a person would want to change about this horse because I wouldn’t want to change a thing.
Under saddle he rides around on the buckle with a nice level head. He will go as fast or as slow as you want to go. He’ll never go faster than what you ask. He is naturally slow gaited. He rides around the arena great and knows his job well. Goes English and western equally as well as one another. Very willing to pop over cross rails. He has good form and could definitely jump bigger if that’s the direction you want to pursue. Axel has a nice soft mouth, rides in a snaffle, moves off leg, listens to all cues, stands at the mounting block patiently, side passes, stops, stands and backs.
Out on the trails he is bombproof and unphased. Rides out alone with zero issues and is not barn or buddy spur at all. Rides right off the property and down the road. Good with cars, trucks, trailers, 4 wheelers, bicycles, motorcycles and anything else you may run into. Walks home on the buckle. This gelding is a very relaxing horse to trail ride. He’s happy, liking his lips and rides with a nice low level head.
On the ground his manners are impeccable. He is good for everything and everyone. Stands like a statue and has the patience of a saint. You really can’t ask for a better mannered horse. Zero vices, 100% sound, up to date on everything, a very easy keeper, no maintenance and no supplements. He sells with a new and clean pre purchase exam. Axel can live inside or out. He has excellent barn and pasture manners. You can catch him anywhere and he will even walk off the side of a pickup truck or side by side. A true all around good using gelding that can go back to doing ranch work tomorrow or go into any family and be an all around pleasure mount.
