Meet Pure Country. A half draft/half quarter horse cross and buckskin. This gorgeous 15 yr old 15.3 hand tall is the horse of your dreams. Has a lot of foot and bone without being too big. He meets all the requirements everyone searches for!!! He’s safe, kind, and steady—and yes, he absolutely believes everyone is his friend. Pure Country is a the kind that catches your eye first, then wins your heart without trying. Under saddle, he has an easy, forgiving way of going that makes riders relax without realizing it. He’s calm, patient, and naturally adjusts to his rider like it’s his job; From kids to adults, beginners to experienced riders, he’s the type that quietly takes care of his people. I have let my 2 yr old navigate him all over and feel completely confident that he will take care of her with ease.
On the trail, he is dependable and unfazed. He rides confidently alone or in a group and is happy leading the pack, following behind, or cruising quietly in the middle. Tarps, flags, bouncy balls, obstacles, water crossings, logs, narrow paths, wildlife, traffic, towns, machinery, and new environments are all no big deal to him—he takes it all in stride with a relaxed, “we’ve got this” attitude.
In the arena, he’s professionally broke with smooth, comfortable gaits and soft transitions. He rides collected, keeps a nice headset, and is easy to guide one-handed or will ride with a nice easy direct rein.. He’s not in a hurry, not complicated, and not interested in causing drama—he’s here for a pleasant ride and a good day. Pure Country has also been used around the ranch, proving he’s more than just good looking. He’ll step up and work when asked, then happily go back to babysitting duty without missing a beat. On the ground, he’s exactly what you’d expect: easy to catch, good for the farrier, stands tied quietly, loads well, and enjoys attention. He gets along well with other horses and does well in a stall or pasture. He will ride bareback, double, or in a halter and stays the same steady, happy gelding every time. He’s the kind of horse families search for—safe, trustworthy, fun to be around, and genuinely enjoyable to own.
Pure Country is an easy keeper. Requires no maintenance of any kind. No special feed or supplements. He can go bare foot or put shoes on him. He has excellent hooves. He sells sounds with no issues.
