This striking Fjord/Quarter Horse cross is the complete package—handsome, kind, and incredibly versatile. He is a gorgeous dun with bold zebra stripes, and his thick mane would look absolutely stunning roached in traditional Fjord fashion. Everywhere he goes, he turns heads and attracts attention.
But his personality is what truly sets him apart.
Gus is a giant teddy bear who loves people He is easy to catch, groom, bathe, tack up, and handle in every aspect of his daily care. He is wonderful for the ferrier and an easy keeper who goes great barefoot.
Under saddle, Gus has had an exceptional start. He rides both English and Western, is comfortable bareback, and has three smooth gaits. He picks up the canter from a walk and has a fantastic whoa. Gus is extremely willing and always looking to please. He's more of a push-style horse—not lazy, just naturally steady and quiet. He doesn’t need a crop or spurs.
Over fences, Gus is just as honest as they come. He happily jumps around a small course, never looks for a way out of work. His lead changes have been started. He has a soft, flat jump that won't launch you out of the tack and makes him incredibly comfortable to ride.
Outside the arena Gus truly shines. He will confidently go wherever he's pointed, whether riding alone or in a group. He happily leads or follows, crosses new terrain with ease. He would excel at hunter paces, fox hunts, trail rides, pleasure riding, or cross-country schooling adventures.
