I am looking for a new home for my Icelandic horse, Tappi vom Dinkelberg.

Tappi was born and raised in Germany in 2015. He has been with me since 2022. He stands approximately 137 cm tall and is not suitable for heavy riders.

He is well-trained, very clear-minded, and currently ridden in 4-gait (though he is naturally 5-gaited). He has a lovely walk and a smooth, comfortable trot. His canter is typical of a 5-gaited horse but can improve with targeted training. Riding the tölt with clear rhythm requires experience with tölt-/gaited horses.

He loves the outdoors but also works well on the arena. He is familiar with oval tracks and indoor riding halls. He can become a bit wary and unsure in loud or busy environments, but this has improved significantly over the past year. He remains controllable at all times and does not become nervous or headstrong.

He always tries very hard to please and wants to do everything right. He responds immediately to seat and aids. He does not tolerate pressure well; if pressured, he tends to close up and stiffen. He has never reared or bucked.

With me, he has completed basic training, the brevet, and we successfully participated in his first competition. He has also enthusiastically and calmly taken part in a working equitation course (bridge, bell, garrocha, etc.).

He is eczema-free, healthy, regularly vaccinated, and seen annually by the equine dentist. He has also been regularly checked by a chiropractor/physio as a precaution. Loading onto the trailer is no problem.

I am seeking someone who appreciates a finely ridden horse and can continue to develop and challenge him. For me, the quality of the horse takes precedence over the price.
