Meet Cactus, a stunning 4 year old, 12.1 hand gelding who is the definition of a true UNICORN, he’s been there, done that! Cactus has been a LOT of miles under saddle and in the harness, he has seen more country than most horses twice his age. He has been hauled to team ropings, barrel races, and rodeos. He’s worked cattle, been hog hunting, traveled through thick woods and rough country, and trail ridden countless miles down the road. He is 100% traffic safe cars, trucks, equipment, and even trains going by and honking don’t faze him. He’ll ride right alongside them without batting an eye. He has even carried the American flag during the National Anthem! 🇺🇸 This little guy truly rides like a big horse. He has a great handle (even one hand neck rein), a good stop, goes anywhere he is pointed, and has absolutely no nonsense about him, you can step him off in a lope even after months of sitting in a stall. He rides Western AND English, and my girls absolutely love jumping him! Cactus is patterned in the poles and has been hauled, he loves them! He is also going really well on the breakaway dummy, heel sled, barrels, and goat tying. On the driving side, Cactus stands ground tied to be harnessed up, he goes into the shafts with ease, and waits on you to get in before moving, he is easy easy to drive and can really trot out and get you somewhere fast, or he will slow down and walk/jog. Very nice driving pony! Whether you want one to trail ride, take to the arena, drive to town, work cattle on, or let the kids enjoy, Cactus is ready to do it. What makes Cactus so special is his mind and disposition. He is honest, willing, forgiving, and has more heart and try than you could ever ask for. Both of my girls, ages 8 and 11, catch him themselves, saddle and bridle him, and ride him everywhere with ZERO help from an adult. I trust him enough for little kids to run up behind him, crawl around him, and love all over him—he simply stands there like a rock. He is truly BOMBPROOF and has absolutely no spook to him. Cactus is easy to catch and an absolute gentleman on the ground. He leads, loads, ties, bathes, clips, saddles, and takes a bit with no trouble. NO buck, kick, bite, or bad habits. He gets along great with our horses, ponies, goats, dogs, cats, and steers. He’s the kind you enjoy having around every single day. Everywhere Cactus goes, he gets ALL the attention, and with his little babydoll face, it isn’t hard to see why. He is cute as a button, loaded with personality, and genuinely loves having a job. Ponies with this kind of experience, versatility, and mind are incredibly hard to find. Cactus is an easy keeper, requires NO special maintenance, is 100% sound and can stay barefoot.
