If you like personality, being safe, having fun, and turning heads, here is your guy. This boy would be good for the whole family! Banjo is a total sweetheart, and loves people. He is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, from lovely rides to putting his head in your arms and talking a nap. Whether you are looking for a husband horse, kid horse, trail horse, show horse, Banjo will do it all! In the barn, Banjo has zero bad habits. He is a super chill around dude. He can live in or out, with others or alone, he doesn’t care. He has zero stall vices and never asks for anything. You can often find him sharing his hay with his stall neighbor through the cracks of his stall, or taking a snooze. He loves to lay out in the pasture and soak up the sun. I have turned him out with bossy mares, clingy geldings and now he is babysitting my yearling. He causes no drama and just minds his own business in the pasture. Banjo will always walk up to you in the field and he is the safe type of guy that you can trust sending your kids out to catch, or climb all over. He just likes to be involved. Banjo stands on the cross ties patiently to be groomed, tacked, bathed, loved on, you name it. He is safe with kids, beginners and dogs running around his feet, and I don’t think that he would ever, even hurt a fly. You can climb all through his legs and under him. He enjoys being loved on, and making you giggle. Banjo has great ground manners, he is gentle and laid back. He has even dabbled in showmanship and knows more than I do in that discipline. Banjo lunges well, and roundpens. He is totally gentle to work around, and he ground ties as well. I often drop him in the middle of the arena to go pick up poop and he waits for me every time. Banjo loads and trailers, and you can tie him to the trailer to get ready. He is a good boy off property, and the same horse every ride. I had Banjo through this awful winter, I was only getting to ride here and there…. He was a horse that I could trust every time to hop on and go ride with no silly business. He even did the best job at pulling my friends around on a sled!!! On the trails, Banjo will lead, follow, go out alone and in groups. He is willing and brave on the trails and goes where you ask. Into the lake, across the creek, over the logs, canter through a field then drop right back down to a quiet walk. He is safe with traffic, machinery, four wheelers, bikes, dogs, strollers, deer, turtles(yes turtles) and I have had him out shed hunting(bushwhacking looking for antlers). He is the perfect combo of drop your reins and follow or lead and enjoy the ride, or ask him to move out and have fun and he will. He will pack your husband around then take you to a hunter pace type of guy. He absolutely loves trail riding and takes good care of his rider. Banjo has been out on over night camping trips as well!! He is the ultimate all around horse! Banjo rides western, english, and bareback. He has super comfortable, uphill gaits. His gaits are adjustable and he has smooth transitions. He rides in a plain snaffle, and I have ridden him a few times with just a neck rope. He is soft in your hands and listens well to voice commands. He is more of a push style ride, but moves out when asked without a crop or spurs. He is not a horse that needs lunged before riding and doesn’t need a routine to stay sane. In the ring, Banjo will walk, jog, trot, lope, canter, and knows his leads. He is learning the fundamentals of a lead change but doesn’t have a solid change yet. He will move off of leg laterally, and ride off of your seat and legs. He is not a reactive horse and takes care of beginners as well, and will not be bothered if they accidentally press a “button”. He doesn’t get upset with off balance riders and can take a joke. Banjo will stop with “whoa”, back up, pivot, neck rein, and is learning to side pass. You can stop fast with whoa or bring him down slowly through the gaits. Banjo will ride collected, on the buckle, and will put his head where you ask him. Lower his head, or leave it up for balance. Banjo has been lightly introduced to jumping. I popped him over a few small cross rails this winter, then didn’t ask him to jump again until recently as he has only been four years old his whole time with me. He has always been honest and brave to fences and tries his best. Banjo is a very intelligent horse that likes to please his rider. He enjoys learning and being rewarded. Banjo did show a little when he was younger in some western classes. This boy has potential and the looks to head into absolutely any discipline. He is currently set up as a versatile horse, ready to go in the direction that you want to pursue. Banjo is an easy keeper, with a simple diet and no maintenance. He doesn’t have any special requirements. He has been barefoot his whole life, has very solid feet, and clean legs. He was started slowly and correctly. Banjo is great for the vet and farrier. Banjo has been an amazing horse to have around. He is the barn clown, and will take lead ropes off of his door, make funny faces, and just knows how to make your day better. He has a very calming and kind personality, easy to bond with. He is the horse that you can go sit with or hug if you are having a bad day. Not only is he honest and sweet, he is absolutely beautiful!!!! Banjo is the all around, family safe, versatile horse that everyone is looking for. I am very thankful for my time with him, now he is ready to go make someone else happy. I can see Banjo going many different directions, he has his western side for ranch trail, showmanship, western pleasure, trail classes, western dressage, trail riding, and more. Then he also has his english side, and I could see him dabbling in dressage, hunters, english pleasure, fox hunting, etc! If you can picture Banjo being a part of your life, please don’t hesitate to reach out for more information!! Shipping can be arranged anywhere!
