Cleo is a 14h 5yo purebred dapple grey Connemare mare with all Class 1 breeding
She is sired by the prestigious Carstown Bobby Sparrow, and her Damsire is the one and only Silver Shadow, one of the most desireable Connemara stallions in the world.
Cleo shows incredible scope over fences, and is currently schooling 1.10 with room for more. We believe that with the right jockey and program, she has the technique and talent be a fabulous 1.20 pony.
She is brave and honest, requiring very little leg or help from her rider. She always goes in a loose ring snaffle and is never strong in related distances, before or after the fence.
Cleo has a steady, rhythmic canter that is incredibly easy and balanced to adjust. She is never bold and will always take the distance given
She is not hot, strong, sharp or silly and proves very forgiving to a bad distance. She is settled and calm in new places.
Cleo is easy and light to ride in the contact and has auto changes when jumping a course
Our rides have found her to be a very pleasant, straightforward little mare who loves to work. She is gentle and polite to catch, hack alone or company, shoe, load, tie, plait, wash, travel alone, etc.
She has no mareish behaviours, she can live out with mares and geldings quietly or live in and stays the same character.
Cleo has been cross country schooling and cub hunted, and proves equally brave and happy to jump natural obstacles. We believe her best talent is as a showjumping pony, as she is ultra focused and very careful over coloured rails.
Due to her athletic nature, we believe Cleo would best suit a child already confidently competing in 80cm classes who is hoping for a talented partner to take them up the levels, or a someone looking to develop her on as a top-track showjumper.
