!!Meet Goliath!!
This is one unbelievable one of kind horse!! Although he is a giant, he has the demeanor of a miniature pony!!! Absolutely as gentle and sweet as puppy!! To know him is love him!! He draws a crowd everywhere he goes and he loves it. If you are looking to save money and just buy one horse for the whole family this is the one to buy. The whole family can ride him at once. No joke. He can easily carry 3 people.
Goliath is a paint 18 hand tall crossbred gelding. Yes, 18 hands tall and 4 ft wide. He is quite a large animal. But he truly acts like a pony. He loves attention.
He will walk right up to you in the pasture and he wants you to catch. He literally begs you to catch him. He loves being around his people. He will gladly leave his pasture mates to hang around his people and go on adventures. I can’t say that enough. He truly loves being around people and getting all the attention. Seriously you cannot walk out to the pasture without him being in your pocket and wanting to follow you everywhere you go. A true definition of a in your pocket type. Come meet him and you will see.
Goliath is just 6 yrs old. Yes just 6. He has his whole life ahead of him. But has the experience of a 20 yr old horse. He has already had so much real world experience.
When Goliath came to us, he came off a big ranch in Wyoming. Where he was being used like a ranch horse. They used him like a regular quarter horse. He doesn’t know he is big or different. They really got him broke. They did all the chores on him. From pulling a hay wagon to put out hay. To riding out on the ranch to check cattle. To packing supplies up into the mountains. Even has been roped off of. He is what I would call an all around seasoned trail horse that has seen a lot extensive country. Been in the steepest parts of the mountains. He can handle any terrain. Loves to cross water (so he can play in it). Has had a gun shoot off of him and around him. Used durning hunting season as well to pack out deer and elk. He can carry several at time. He is been there done that type. Has had lots of mileage put on him.
When Goliath came to us we started his jumping career. We seen he had so much talent and ability. He loves the cross country courses. The bigger the jumps the better. He is like a little kid and loves to see all the different jumps. It’s like play time to him. He has beautiful form and keeps the same steady rhythm coming in, over, and away from the jumps. He is not a lazy horse and not a hot hyper horse - he falls right in that perfect in-between, making him incredibly easy and confidence-building to ride. Everyone absolutely loves to ride him because he does not require constant kicking and easy to get into that slow lope on the course. Now he is not going to win any speed races but dang sure has the ability to do so. I have seen him run up for dinner. He can really run and cover some ground when he wants to or when food is involved. For a big horse he has the smooth trot and lope. Has a lot of handle. Neck reins perfectly. Backs. Side passes. Really broke and soft in the bridle. Responsive to all cues. Whether on his back or on the ground. You don’t have to pull hard. He is very lite both in his mouth and on his sides to give cues. We just ride him with simple short shank snaffle or an o-ring snaffle. He doesn’t need a heavy bit. He is also aware and cautious with his surroundings. Our little sweet 12 lb puppy is always running around his feet. Also the kids. He makes sure to not step on them. Loves smelling of the puppy and following him around to see what he’s doing. It truly is amazing to see such a big horse with such a heart of gold. He truly is the sweetest most kindest natured soul.
I would absolutely say Goliath is suitable for any age or riding experience. He is 100% safe. Absolutely no bad habits or quirks about him. You don’t have to know anything special to own him. He is easy to be around and especially to handle.
I think he would make an excellent mount police horse. He has so much experience and patience that would make him perfect for those situations. Nothings scares him. Not all at spooky or reactive. He is experienced around being in town around traffic and all the excitement.
Goliath doesn’t require anything special. We use our regular saddle and girts on him. For as big as his head is he can wear our standard quarter horses headstall and bits. We didn’t have to get anything extra or special for him. We did have to let it out. But it all fits him.
He is such an easy keeper. Easy to shoe if you want to put shoes on him. However he doesn’t need them. He has excellent hooves. He is sound in every way. Absolutely healthy. Nothing wrong with him. We did have a pre evaluation done on him by our vet. (Will include in the pics).
Horses like Goliath are few and far between. Your neighbors won’t have one like him. You will stand out riding him.
