A Metallic Cat CD – aka “Hammy” is The Total Package: Pedigree • Performance • Personality… he has it all! Fondly known around the barn as Hammy, this gelding is a true favorite — and for good reason. With his goofy personality, willing attitude, and exceptional talent, Hammy shines no matter what you ask of him. Hammy is a 14.2h, 2013 model own son of the legendary Metallic Cat, whose lifetime earnings exceed $673,000 and progeny earnings are over $5 million. Metallic Cat is the leading sire in both NRCHA and NCHA. His dam, CDs Star Lady, earned over $6,800 and has produced more than $40,000. She is an own daughter of the great CD Olena, giving Hammy a pedigree packed with proven performers — and he lives up to it. Hammy has $4700 total ($1200 NCHA) earnings and AQHA points. While he wasn’t campaigned heavily in the NCHA, he has been shown locally and added to his lifetime earnings along the way. More than that, he has been an incredible teacher. This is the horse that taught me how to ride one that truly looks at a cow. He’s smooth, responsive, and lets you enjoy every moment in the saddle. In the show pen, Hammy stands out in ranch riding. He crosses obstacles with confidence, side passes over logs with ease, and has a stylish, powerful stop that always turns heads. He’s quiet and confident wherever you take him and never gets flustered — even in the busiest warm-up pens. He’s easy to prep, easy to ride, and just plain fun. Out on the trails, Hammy is the same steady partner. He’s calm, confident, and always up for an adventure. He handles water crossings, brush, and uneven terrain with ease. He’s safe around wildlife, heavy equipment, dogs, and passing vehicles. This is a horse you can take anywhere and trust to take care of you. Hammy is dual-registration eligible with APHA, expanding his versatility and value even further. He is also Riata Buckle eligible, opening doors to an exciting and lucrative incentive program for ropers and performance competitors. He is fit, in shape, and ready to step into the show pen today. Whether you’re looking for a horse to win on, learn from, or simply enjoy, Hammy checks every box. He’s safe for absolutely anyone, in and out of the show pen. Horses like this don’t come along every day — don’t miss the chance to make him part of your story. Hammy will also come with his custom halter — a small touch for a horse that’s anything but ordinary. Message for more information or to schedule a time to come meet Hammy. Contact Kaitlyn with Lazy H Equine 405-510-7442 with any questions. We are located in Elk City, OK. Vet check is on file.
