Zip is a very kind, loving, and sweet gelding. He is 15.3 hands and loves attention. I have used him mainly for trail riding as well as packing. He does well in an arena, but isn't fancy broke. Not for a beginner as he can sometimes be spooky and doesn't have the best confidence in himself, so I'd recommend a confident rider. That being said, I have led my young grandchildren around on him, but I wouldn't put a new rider on by themself.
He can get a little fresh and buddy sour with too much time off, but a few minutes of lunging has always done the trick for me.
I had originally gotten him for my husband, but they don't make a good pair. I have greatly enjoyed riding him and only looking for a new home for him because he needs a rationed, low-starch diet. Due to the nature of our business, we have to free feed our horses at times, and that is not suitable for Zip.
I typically leave him barefoot, except in the late summer and fall when I know I'll be taking him in rockier terrain. He does have some mild arthritis in his front left, but it's never required medication or time off. I easily still avg 5 mile rides in the mountains with no trouble.
Hoping to find him a loving home where someone can enjoy him as much as I have and give him the proper requirements he needs.
