Copper is the kind of gelding everyone hopes to have in their barn—talented, dependable, loving, and truly enjoyable to be around. At just 5 years old and standing 15 hands, he is wise beyond his years and rides like a seasoned horse, with the experience, confidence, and steady mind you would expect from a horse much older. He is a true all-around gelding who can go from a full day of work to a relaxing trail ride and make both look easy.
In the arena, Copper is an absolute pleasure to ride. He has a beautiful, slow, collected lope that is comfortable and easy to sit, stays soft and responsive, and carries himself nicely. He is willing and attentive without being overly reactive, making him enjoyable for a wide variety of riders. He has that seasoned feel under saddle—you can relax, enjoy your ride, and trust him to take care of his job.
Copper has been used around cattle and knows what a day's work is about. He is confident, level-headed, and dependable when there's a job to do. You can rope off of him, and he stays quiet and honest. With his natural ability and versatility, he could continue in several directions, whether that's ranch work, roping, barrels, cutting, or simply being an exceptional all-around horse.
Out on the trail, Copper is just as dependable. He is sure-footed, willing, and confident whether you ride out alone or with a group. He goes where he's pointed, handles new situations with maturity, and gives his rider the confidence of sitting on a horse that has been doing it his entire life.
As impressive as Copper is under saddle, his personality may be what makes everyone love him most. He is incredibly loving, gentle, and kind and is truly adored by everyone who spends time with him. He's the horse people look forward to seeing in the barn—the kind that loves attention, wants to please, and quickly becomes everyone's favorite. His steady, forgiving disposition makes him suitable for kids and beginners, while his talent and ability make him every bit as enjoyable for an experienced rider.
Copper is also backed by a strong pedigree with Hancock and Smart Little Lena breeding, adding proven cow-horse influence, athleticism, and versatility to an already impressive gelding.
Copper truly is the whole package. He has the mind and experience of a seasoned horse, the ability to do a day's work, a slow collected lope you'll want to ride all day, and the sweet personality that makes you fall in love with him on the ground. Wise beyond his years, dependable beyond expectation, and loved by everyone who meets him, Copper is the kind of gelding that doesn't come along every day.
