We have personally had Carly in our barn for over a year now, and she has been a favorite! Carly has not been passed around and is as honest and true as one comes. You would drive a long way to find one with a demeanor and natural ability like hers.
From the roping pen to riding lessons, this young mare has the mind and talent to handle it all. Carly is 100% gentle for anyone to ride—elderly, children, and adults alike. From novice to advanced riders, she can turn it up and bring it right back down. Carly is one-hand broke, very cowy, has been hauled to town, and takes everything in stride.
Carly has been ridden many miles by an 80-year-old cowboy on a Brahman cattle ranch in East Texas as a 2- and 3-year-old. Standing water, deep mud, alligators, big bulls, cowbirds, dogs—she’s seen it all and will cross anything! You can do absolutely any kind of ranch work on this mare and get the job done. On top of that, lesson kids of all ages ride her, and she tolerates all the nonsense they throw at her!
Outside the arena or inside, she is the same—always consistent. A point-and-shoot, no-nonsense kind of mare. Let her sit, and she will not get fresh or silly. She gets along with other horses and does not act marish.
