The nine-year-old mare Lumia descends from the renowned damline of Garant (by Warrant), the 1.60m Grand Prix horse ridden by Beezie Madden. Lumia has been ridden in the past and was used for breeding in recent years. She produced a foal earlier this year, which unfortunately passed away a few days after birth. The breeder has now decided to offer her once again in our auction. She is still fit for breeding or to be ridden—there is no reason she couldn’t return to sport. Lumia is a beautifully modelled mare with remarkable self-carriage. She has plenty of blood, jumps with excellent technique, and combines scope with suppleness. Her sire Verdi TN was a long-standing pillar of the Dutch showjumping team alongside Maikel van der Vleuten and is considered one of the most successful stallions in international sport. Her dam Twister is by the legendary Baloubet du Rouet, out of a damline combining Voltaire and Pilot—a pedigree rich in sport performance. Twister has already produced three international showjumpers: Zilver (by Clinton), a 1.60m Grand Prix stallion approved in Italy and competed by Juan Carlos Garcia, Audrey (by Lord Z), classified at 1.40m with Mackenzie Ray (GBR), Fabienne (by Zambesi TN), active at 1.35m level in Denmark. Granddam Madeleine (by Voltaire) produced several sport horses, including Riadne Velvet and Deister 101 (both 1.45m), Clive (1.40m), and Sanne (1.35m). Her descendants are widely represented in sport, among them: Incredible (1.45m), Zoe Velvet (1.45m), London 39 (1.40m), Ghitta and Helios Velvet (both 1.35m), and the approved stallions Valentino Velvet (1.60m GP), Aerobic TN, Game Boy, and Brooklyn.
