Classy, safe, dependable, and honest are all qualities I’d use to describe Lena. She is 11 years old and stands 14.3 hands and has that beautiful bay roan color. With us Lena has been such a solid trail horse. She is safe when it comes to crossing water, slippery rock, navigating her way through steep, wooded trails, and is unbothered by busy traffic on the highway. She also has overnight camping trip experience and is a trustworthy mount. She is even pretty handy when it comes to light ranch work- pushing cattle, checking fences and helping load out trucks. She doesn’t get nervous out in open country, she keeps a calm level head wherever she’s at. We have had young kids ride her with zero issues- she’s never failed us at taking care of a rider, whether they are just starting out or have been riding for years. She’s honest about everything she does and will be the same horse every single day. She has smooth transitions, and has such a nice, comfortable lope.
She does good turned out in a mixed herd, or stalled. On group rides she’s not picky when it comes to leading the pack or bringing up the rear- she rides safely out alone, as well. She is great for the farrier, to bathe, and saddle. Lena would be a great addition to anyone’s family who’s wanting a safe horse to go out and enjoy some trails on, or use out on the ranch- she’s experienced in both aspects making her easy to get along with on whatever you decide.
