Fairy Knight (the gelding offered here for sale) was previously sold to a champion rider. During the pre-purchase exam, only a minor, clinically insignificant finding was detected. Therefore, he is now available again and is being offered at a significantly reduced price. He is ideally suited for riders aiming to compete at higher levels in dressage and who do not have resale as their goal.
Fairy is characterized by an extremely calm and affectionate nature.
Fairy Knight is a young gelding with the potential for advanced dressage competition. It’s not only his beauty, expression, and impressive movement, but especially his temperament. Completely relaxed and always willing to do his best for his rider. This is no surprise considering his lineage.
His dam is Elfenblüte, from the Elfenblume line, undoubtedly one of the best mare lines. Elfenblüte is full sister to True Love GS, vice-champion of the German Federal Championships for 4-year-old dressage horses, and multiple times successful at S-level under Matthias Rath. True Love produced a licensed Oldenburg stallion by Sir Donnerhall in 2025.
Elfenblüte descends from the Elfenschau line, with Totilas as her sire, a name that needs no introduction (though I will mention it below). Elfenschau also produced, besides True Love GS, a licensed stallion (DSP) by Thiago, who is a son of Totilas. This exemplifies the successful crossing of these lines. Elfenschau’s pedigree includes Florencio I as her sire and Elfengüte as her dam, who in turn descends from De Niro. This combines some of the most renowned bloodlines in dressage breeding, both stallions being top producers in the sport. The Elfenblume line traces back to Ewald Grotelüschen’s breeding program and consistently produces top-quality horses, making it one of the most famous mare lines ever. Horses from this line include Depardieu, Al Pacino 3, Great Gatsby, and De Vito.
Her sire’s sire, Totilas, profoundly influenced the dressage scene like no other. Not only was he a top performer himself, but many of his progeny also achieve top results in dressage competitions. He is one of the world’s leading dressage sires, with over 40 licensed sons.
Elfenblüte has so far only produced Oldenburg premium foals with Fairy Knight (by Foundation) and Elfenglanz (by For Romance I). Currently, she has Fortino (by Fontainebleau Lami) at her side, who was awarded as an elite foal.
The sire of Fairy Knight is Foundation, who has been one of the world’s top dressage sires for years. His success is partly due to offspring like the World Cup sixth-place finisher Florine OLD, the EM team bronze medalist Favour, and the second-place finisher in World Cup dressage, Foreman. Among his 40 licensed sons are the vice-world champion of dressage horses and Grand Prix performer Ferrari OLD, the Grand Prix-winning Freischütz, and the Hannoveraner Champion and Inter II successful Feuertanz. He has 85 awarded daughters, including the overall winner of the DSP mare championship. His daughter Feel Free OLD was the reserve champion mare of Oldenburg, vice-champion of the German Federal Championships for mares, finalist at the Dressage Horse World Championships and Burg Pokal, and already placed at Grand Prix level.
Foundation was the Oldenburger Ia main premium winner in 2012 and reached the finals of the Burgpokal and Louisdor Prize. He has won Grand Prix dressage tests and placed second in the Rotterdam Nations Cup. Foundation received the prestigious Grande Preis from the Hanoverian Verband and was awarded as an elite stallion in Oldenburg.
Fairy Knight’s grandsire is Fidertanz, the Hannoveraner Stallion of the Year 2021, and one of the top dressage sires according to WBFSH rankings. He has 65 licensed sons.
His paternal grandmother is Donna Doria, who also produced three other licensed stallions.
Fairy Knight is very friendly, halter-trained, regularly dewormed, and familiar with trailer loading and hoof care.
